The equipment is also proprietary to their system, so that you cannot use it with another service provider. This becomes especially irksome if you pay for add on items which can be substantially more than the prices of our best DIY alarm companies.

Equipment and Monitoring

Comcast Home security systems use the cable connection for the primary data transmission with cellular as a backup.  This means there are no phone wires that can be cut. Additionally, a cable connection is required for Xfinity Security cameras to interface with the Comcast Home Security App.

So let’s say you elect to cancel after 14 months.  You will incur a termination fee of $1100 minus $100 for each full 3 calendar months that you have maintained service.  In this case, that would mean that you deduct $400 from the $1100 termination fee. That means that you would have to pay an additional $700 to terminate your contract!  What is even worse is that you don’t retain ownership of the equipment until after you have satisfied the 24 month contractual obligation.  So you will likely have to return the equipment as well….Not a very customer friendly cancellation policy.
